WORLD HEADLINES – Stocks gained with U.S. equity-index futures and the pound strengthened to its highest level this year as the U.K.’s referendum on membership of the European Union got under way. Read more – Brexit Vote Count: What to Watch for as the Night Unfolds
STOCKS – The Stoxx Europe 600 Index rose for a fifth day, surging 1.3 percent, with miners leading a rally of all industry groups.
BONDS – The yield on 10-year U.S. Treasuries increased by three basis point to 1.72 percent, after sliding to the lowest level since 2012 last week.
COMMODITIES – Gold swung between gains and losses near a two-week low, having retreated 2.5 percent over the last three days.
CURRENCIES – The pound rose to its strongest level since Dec. 31. The currency has strengthened about 3 percent versus the US dollar this week.
ECONOMIC DATA – US Unemployment Claims due at 8:30, New Home Sales at 10:00, Natural Gas Storage at 10:30, UK EU Membership Vote (all day)
