What’s next in the global markets?

Pre-market price action and scheduled economic data that may have an impact on the global financial markets:

STOCKS – European shares rose after being closed for a four day Easter break,  shrugging off losses in Asia, as investors looked to a speech by Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen for clues to the interest rate outlook following weak U.S. data.

BONDS – Yields on German 10-year government bonds, the benchmark for borrowing costs in the euro zone, fell 3.3 basis points to 0.16 percent.

COMMODITIES – Crude slipped through $39 a barrel in New York in a fourth day of losses. Weekly U.S. government data is forecast to show another increase in crude stockpiles.

CURRENCIES –  The  Dollar Spot Index, which tracks the U.S. currency against 10 major peers, rose less than 0.1 percent. While it pared its monthly drop to 2.5 percent, that’s still biggest since April.

ECONOMIC DATA – CAD RMPI m/m due at 8:30, CB Consumer Confidence at 10:00, Fed Chair Yellen Speaks at 12:20 ET.
