STOCKS – European stocks rose for a second day as companies including Daimler AG reported better-than- expected earnings. U.S. stock-index futures were little changed, while Asian shares climbed.
BONDS – Treasury 30-year bond yields were within two basis points of a 13-month low as investors bet the Federal Reserve will refrain from raising interest rates with inflation remaining in check.
COMMODITIES – West Texas Intermediate crude fell for a second day after an industry report showed gasoline supplies expanded in the U.S., the world’s biggest oil consumer.
CURRENCIES – Australia’s dollar strengthened to the highest in almost two weeks after a government report showed annual inflation accelerated to the fastest pace in four years.
