STOCKS – European stocks were little changed, trading near their highest level since January 2008. Asian shares and U.S. equity-index futures rose.
BONDS – U.S. 30-year bond yields headed for a fifth monthly decline, the longest since 2006, as slow inflation and mixed economic data underpinned demand for long-term debt.
COMMODITIES – Corn extended a drop to the lowest level in more than 12 weeks after farmers in the U.S., the top exporter, accelerated planting in the last week.
CURRENCIES – The euro declined for a second day against the yen as data showed German unemployment unexpectedly increased this month and euro-area lending contracted, boosting the case for more European Central Bank stimulus.
